[Well, HiMERU had asked more as a formality than anything else; it's not like Niki's ever really needed much of a reason to indulge. His life revolved around (food) indulgences, and that wasn't about to change now... Even when they were challenged for food security in the earlier winter months, it was the splurges in-between that kept them moving along, letting the intermittent highs carry them hopefully into the next.]
HiMERU isn't so cold that he would accept your offering only to shut the door in your face. [It might've been funny though.] Come right in. The others are out, so we can take our time.
[He guides Niki in to their kitchen, the layout of the house none too different from theirs just down the street... but it is perhaps still a tad sparser, clean and impersonal — save for where Arashi has put the work in to brighten the space and make it feel more like a proper home. HiMERU starts to rifle through the cabinets for dishes, but... he looks back to the colored boxes once more.]
What is it you've brought him today, anyway? You have quite a few with you.
[IT MIGHT'VE BEEN FUNNY, THOUGH... Niki wouldn't have thought much of it if he'd said no for any reason (but that's the low self-esteem speaking). He's glad that HiMERU accepts his company easily, however, and he follows him through the house like a good, obedient guest.
He sets the boxes down on the kitchen table.]
Yeah, I kinda overdid it. [He scratches his cheek, smiling sheepishly.] For appetizers, we've got white chocolate cookies and matcha truffles. Then, for our main course, we have a strawberry cheesecake. ♪ ...actually, I didn't think this one through very well. I totally forgot dessert for dessert!

[He made this all up on the spot, honestly.]
