When he opens the door, he waves Niki into a plainly furnished room — basic as any of the other residences, but with enough to serve its purposes — and attempts to take some of the load out of Niki's arms. There's something familiar about this interaction, but also not; back then, Niki had been carrying so much he could barely see in front of him, and HiMERU had only offered help in the form of advice, if it could even be called that.
The situation has changed, of course, in too many ways to count...]
Thank you for these, Shiina. HiMERU wishes he had more to offer in return, but... lately it seems like all he's been doing is relying on your generosity. It's a bit shameful, really. How can he repay you?
[Niki enters the room and gladly hands the pile over to HiMERU without a fuss. It would be nostalgic for Niki, too, if... you know, that wasn't something that happened pretty recently for him or anything! Oops. But it is familiar, and Niki kind of likes that, even if it wasn't the warmest of interactions the first time. To him, they weren't close, but... they were all in the same boat, in the end. Back then, and now, too.
The only thing Niki does "fuss" about is all this talk about repayment! He shakes his head quickly.]
Oh, don't even worry about it! We really did have more than we needed. [He'd wanted to be extra safe when things started getting colder, but it was maybe too safe. They had plenty to spare.] Plus, you just got here! It'd be pretty lame if I expected anything in return, right?
[The only time he did stuff for that reason was if he thought he was gonna get food out of it. But he wouldn't use HiMERU just for food! Probably!]
There isn't a lot I can do in this place, honestly~. So if I can help out in this little way, then I'm glad for it.
